Aromatherapy is the use of volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for the psychological and physical well-being of it's users. The term aromatherapy is relatively recent, dating back to the last century, but the foundations of aromatherapy date back many thousands of years. The use of essential oils in particular date back nearly one thousand years.

Ancient civilizations used plants for well-being as well as medicinal purposes.
